Student Cabinet Invested
Bestowing the guard of honour in a
ceremonious way is the unique tradition of IISJ.
Accordingly the Investiture Ceremonies were held in all
the blocks in a ceremonious way.
The Investiture Ceremonies of VI-XII
GS & BS were held in a grand manner. The senior cabinet
members, the junior cabinet members, the class prefects
and the house prefects were invested with the badge of
honour. Mrs Suraya Baba graced the occasion as the chief
guest in the GS, while Mr Shakeel Ahmed, Consul
Education & School Observer graced the ceremony in the
BS as the chief guest.
No
person was ever honoured for what he received. Honour
has been the reward for what he gave…..

The Score High Testing & Guidance
Scheme—
The new
academic manoeuvre introduced for the first time
is expected to create opportunities for the
ability group to elevate their academic
performance. The response from the students is
overwhelming, The scheme has been implemented in
the Boys Section from the month of June and the
same will be implemented in the Girls Section
after the Summer Vacation.
The EPP (Examination Preparatory Programme)
was
introduced last
year,
which is in practice this year and is being
carried out before every exam.
Special
& Remedial Classes
are a regular feature of the school, which are
planned and carried out periodically as per the
convenience of the students and parents. This
year too the school is planning to organize
classes during the summer vacation to facilitate
the students who were admitted late and to
provide coaching to the low achievers.
Success doesn’t mean the absence
of failures; it means the attainment of ultimate
objectives. It means winning the war, not every
battle.

IISJ WINS
Inter College Table Tennis Championship
Students of IISJ brought laurels to the
school. Mariam Sadiq and Shaima Saukat represented the
school and bagged the second position in both team and
individual championship.
Science & Engineering Fair
The Science & Engineering Fair was held
at Effat College on 21 April 2009. Anam Nemat, Shehnaz
Sultana and Sheerin Khan represented the School with a
project on Rescue & Search Robo which was adjudged the
best project.
IISJ Students—the
most talented
The GTC 2009 was conducted by MES in the
month of May. Leena Abdul Jabbar and Zuhair Mazhar were
declared the most talented girl and boy respectively.

CRICKET
TEAM BRINGS LAURELS
To Commemorate the
inauguration of the Jeddah Cricket Association, a
Cricket Match was organized between IISJ and Pakistan
International School. Zubaid Ahmed was the top scorer,
scoring 116 runs in 46 balls. He was declared the “Man
of the Match.” The IISJ team won the match.

NOTE TO PARENTS
The school will be closing for Summer
Vacation & Eid Holidays from July 23, 2009 & will
re-open on September 28, 2009.School fee upto September
2009 can be paid in advance. However the fee counter in
the Boys Section will remain open on all working days
from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The School Managing
Committee has decided to exempt the late fee till 10th
October 2009 for the months July to September 2009.
Kindly note that late fee will be charged
for the complete period of default as per existing rules
for late payment after October 10, 2009

A Burning Desire is the Secret to
Success
A young boy asked Socrates the
secret to success. Socrates told the young boy
to meet him near the river the next morning.
They met. Socrates asked the young boy to walk
with him toward the river. When the water got up
to their neck, Socrates took the young boy by
surprise and ducked him into the water. The boy
struggled to come out but Socrates was strong
and kept him there until the boy started turning
blue. Socrates pulled his head out of the water
and the first thing the boy did was to gasp and
take a deep breath of air. Socrates asked, “What
did you want the most when you were there?” The
boy replied, “Air”. Socrates said, “That is the
secret to success. When you want success as
badly as you wanted the air, then you will get
it.” There is no other secret.
